Read Healing Teaching – Part 4
Now let’s look at how Peter and John brought healing to a lame man in Acts 3:1-8:
Now Peter and John went up together to the temple …and a certain man lame from birth was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple… who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.” So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Yeshua the Messiah of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and anklebones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them, walking, leaping, and praising God. Acts 3:1,8
Notice that Peter didn’t even pray for this man! He also didn’t ask God to heal him. He simply said, “What I do have I give you” and he was healed!
This didn’t mean that Peter was the source of this healing. It was God’s power, but that power was under Peter’s authority who used it as expected.
Peter believed the Lord had already done His part and had placed that power within him. So Peter spoke and released God’s power into the man.
God never told us to pray for the sick by asking Him to heal them. He told us to heal them. Look at these verses now in a new light…
“Then He called His twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. And He sent them …to heal the sick.” (Luke 9:1-2)
… Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. (Matthew 10:7-8)
Yes, God is the healer, BUT if you don’t use your authority and become a believing commander instead of a beggar, God’s power will not be released in or through you!
God says this about the power He gave us:
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do…. (John 14:12)
But let’s be honest, are you thinking, “I don’t have that much power.” Let’s resolve this dilemma now.
It’s like electricity. The power company generates the power and sends it to your house. It’s not your power, but it is under your control. When you need a light on you don’t call the power company and ask them to come over to turn the lights on. No, you simply flip the switch for the power to come on. Does this mean you are the power source? No, but you are in control of it.
Are you getting it? God is the power source and He has placed His power inside you through His Holy Spirit. But unless you believe and open your mouth and command your healing to take place, it won’t. It is no different than how God created…
- Genesis 1:3 – Then God said, “Let there be light!” and there was light.
- Genesis 1:11 – Then God said, “Let the land sprout grass, green plants yielding seed, fruit trees making fruit, each according to its species with seed in it, upon the land.”
- Genesis 1:26 – Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness!”
Yes, using His own authority He spoke everything into existence. And when His Spirit lives within you, since He never changes, He does things the same way… He speaks them into existence but now using your voice! WOW! Let me use another analogy to help tie some thoughts together.
The sun shines light onto solar panels, which convert the sun’s power into electricity. And we regulate how bright the lights are with the dimmer. Likewise, the Son puts His power into us, and with the dimmer (our mind) we regulate how much of God’s power actually gets into our bodies.
If we turn off, doubt or close our mind, God’s healing power is still operating at full strength within us. But we stop it with our mind from healing us, just like the dimmer stopped the electricity. So
God is always providing our healing to us, we just accept it or reject it with our mind.
Ok, let’s get down to it here and learn how to pray with belief and authority. When you invite God’s Spirit into you, He authorizes you to use His power. But are you commanding the sickness to go, or are you asking God to pleeeease heal you?
Let’s pretend that you have a pain in your back. And you pray like this…
“Lord I thank you that I am healed and I thank you that according to your Word I am healed! So I ask you Lord to stop this pain in my body today. Thank you Lord as I now believe I also receive! Amen.”
Was that prayer correct? No. Why? Because you asked God to heal you and stop the pain… Huh?
This prayer was as silly as this… You ask me for my keys. I hand them to you, and after you have them, you ask me for them again. God has already healed you, so stop asking Him to do what He has already done! Instead command the pain to stop using God’s authority that He gave you! God lives in you and His power manifests when you speak. SO SPEAK DIRECTLY TO THE PROBLEM which in this case is the pain!!!
God said this to you in His Bible…
- “If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.” (John 14:14)
The Greek word for “ask” also means “demand.”
So this can also be read:
- “If you demand anything in My name, I will do it.”
So think and talk like a general, commanding and demanding things to happen! This is God’s way!
As an example, for cancer, use the authority that God gave you in the Bible and command the cancer to die and healthy cells to replace them in the power of the name of Yeshua! Pray like this…
Cancer in the name of Yeshua I command you to die! Abnormal cells, and sickness you are a lie from satan and right now, I, who am empowered by the living God am speaking to you with the full power and authority of God, and I command you cancer in the name of Yeshua to stop growing and to die and leave my body NOW!
Ok, let’s finish up in Part 5.
